MGD Energy participates in the Conference organized by ClosetheLoop with the support of BSE: Council for Sustainable Development, the Hellenic Network for Corporate Social Responsibility and CSR In Greece on “ Ecolabels and Exports : Research Results for the Agricultural, Tourism and Construction Sector “.
MGD Energy will be represented by Mr. Panagiotis Mourtopallas, co-founder and CEO of the company.

The purpose of the Conference is to present the results of the research project “Ecolabel Decision Support System (EDSS)”, prepared by close the Loop in collaboration with the Democritus University of Thrace, as well as to create a dialogue about the importance of eco-labeling as a tool of competitiveness for Greek exports.

The conference is addressed to representatives of large and small and medium enterprises with export character, as well as to business executives on Environmental Management, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. Although ecolabels concern companies of many sectors, EDSS focuses on companies from the three main sectors of the Greek economy: Agricultural products, Tourist infrastructure and services, Construction materials and Buildings.

The program of the Conference includes the presentation of the research results by the project team, as well as the presentation by the participating companies of their strategy for the eco-labeling and the importance of the research results in it. Also, will participate with presentations Bodies promoting sustainability in companies as well as Organizations for management of eco-labels.

The EDSS research project
EDSS is a three-year research program (2012 – 2015) that aims to help Greek companies choose the most suitable ecolabel for them and their products, through the development of a pioneering and innovative Eco-Labeling Selection System.

Greek companies participate in the research as case studies, the characteristics of which correspond to the wider profile of Greek export companies.
